Crop by dragging, exact pixels, or aspect ratio

Loading an image selects the whole source by default. Drag across the preview to choose a new rectangle, or edit its X position, Y position, width, and height in source pixels. A ratio preset finds the largest centered crop of that shape and also constrains later dragging. The output-width field optionally resizes the crop while preserving its selected proportions.

The original file is not edited

The browser draws only the selected rectangle to a new canvas and creates a separate download. PNG preserves transparency and crisp edges. JPEG replaces transparent pixels with the chosen background and applies lossy compression. WebP supports transparency in modern browsers and also uses the quality control. The browser encoder may not reproduce the exact byte size or color rendering of another editor.

Canvas export usually removes metadata

EXIF details, GPS location, camera information, embedded thumbnails, animation, color profiles, and other metadata are generally not retained in the new file. Cropping permanently excludes pixels outside the selected rectangle from that output, and enlargement cannot restore detail. Keep the original and inspect faces, text, edges, transparency, dimensions, and orientation before sharing.

The source image and cropped pixels remain in the current browser and are not intentionally uploaded to Gypes. Do not crop, publish, or distribute images unless you have the necessary rights and permission, especially for confidential, identity, medical, or copyrighted material.
