Decode QR content without uploading the picture

The selected image and camera frames are converted to pixels and decoded by JavaScript in the current browser. Gypes does not intentionally transmit or store the image, video, or decoded payload. Camera access begins only after selecting “Start camera,” requires browser permission and HTTPS, and stops after a successful scan, when “Stop camera” is selected, or when the page is left.

Read the payload before acting

A QR code can contain ordinary text, a website address, contact details, a phone number, an email link, Wi-Fi credentials, or arbitrary data. This page displays the exact decoded content and does not navigate automatically. It offers an open button only for a syntactically valid HTTP or HTTPS address.

A successful scan does not make content safe

QR codes can lead to phishing, malware, fraudulent payment requests, unsafe downloads, misleading login pages, premium-rate calls, or unwanted configuration data. Check the complete domain, spelling, scheme, and context. Do not enter passwords, payment details, recovery codes, or identity information after following an untrusted code.

Image and camera limitations

Blur, glare, low contrast, extreme perspective, cropped finder squares, tiny modules, decorative patterns, damage, unsupported character encodings, or multiple codes can prevent decoding or return a different visible code. Try a sharper, evenly lit, tightly framed image. The tool reads QR codes; it is not a general one-dimensional barcode scanner.
