Edit and organize a PDF without uploading it
The PDF inspector, page-tree reader, annotation writer, image encoder, and incremental cross-reference writer on this page are original Gypes browser code. The editor does not load PDF.js, pdf-lib, an office suite, or a remote conversion API. The browser’s own PDF viewer supplies the source preview; edits remain in this tab until you download a new file.
What this editor writes
You can add Latin text, freehand ink, translucent highlights, outlined shapes, a hand-drawn signature, and PNG, JPEG, or WebP images. Each edited page receives a standards-based appearance annotation while its original page content remains intact. Page controls can rotate pages, remove unwanted pages, and move the current page earlier or later before saving. Undo removes the most recent addition, while Start over restores the untouched source arrangement.
Why the preview and downloaded file both need checking
The source is shown through the PDF viewer built into the browser, with an editing layer positioned over it. Browser viewers can apply their own padding or zoom, so very precise placement should be checked in the downloaded file. Open the result in an independent PDF reader and inspect every edited page, page order, rotation, image transparency, thin line, and accented character before replacing the original.
What is intentionally outside scope
The tool does not rewrite, reflow, erase, OCR, or securely redact existing page text. A white box only covers pixels visually; underlying content may remain recoverable. Encrypted files, damaged page trees, unusual filters, embedded portfolios, dynamic XFA forms, certificate signing, and some highly compressed PDF structures may be rejected rather than silently damaged. Existing digital signatures will normally become invalid after any modification.
Use a recoverable document workflow
Keep the original file, make a short test edit, download it, and reopen that download before doing extensive work. A successful download means bytes were created; it does not prove that every external reader will interpret a complex document identically. Use an approved document, redaction, records, accessibility, or e-signature system when legal effect, confidential removal, long-term preservation, or regulatory compliance matters.
Everything is processed on this device, but browser extensions, the browser’s native PDF viewer, downloaded-file destinations, device backups, and the security of your own computer remain outside Gypes’ control.
